$R _{x}$ | Reynolds Number based on distance measured from virtual origin of the turbulent boundary layer |
$M _{1}$ | Mach number at edge of boundary layer |
$C _{F}$ | Mean skin friction coefficient |
$C _{f}$ | local skin friction coefficient |
This App calculates the skin friction coefficients for a turbulent boundary layer on a smooth flat plate with zero pressure gradient. It covers Reynolds numbers from $10^{6}$ up to $10^{9}$ for Mach numbers up to 5.
Full details of the Derivation of the method and its application are given in ESDU 68020 in the Aerodynamics Series.
