Guide to fatigue data available in Stress and Strength Series
Abstract:
ESDU 20004 provides a guide to the relevant Data Items offered within the Stress and Strength Series which discuss and present fatigue data. The fatigue data, often derived from constant amplitude stress-life fatigue tests that have been carried out under axial or bending loading, are summarised in tables for the following areas; steel and aluminium welded and non-welded joints, steel bolted joints, steel keyed assemblies, steel and aluminium thick cylinder shafts and steel coned disc springs. A brief review of Data Items that consider the effect of fretting on fatigue strength, the size effect and the use of strain-life fatigue data is also given in ESDU 20004.Format: PDF.
