ESDU 75035
Initial buckling of square plates in shear with central flanged circular holes.
Abstract:
ESDU 75035 gives graphs as a function of reinforcement height/plate thickness ratio for three values of hole diameter/plate width ratio for the buckling stress as a fraction of that for a plate without a hole (for which ESDU 71005 provides an answer). The data were obtained from finite element calculations for holes with symmetrical reinforcement together with experimental results from tests made on panels with flanged holes. The experimental data show that predictions made using the curves are in adequate agreement for diameter/plate thickness ratios exceeding 100, but that disagreement exists at lower values.Indexed under:
