ESDU 15007
Worked example for tyre in yawed motion on a dry or wet runway surface.
An application of ESDU 13007
Abstract:
This Data Item demonstrates the application of an empirical model defined in ESDU 13007, Side-force coefficients on aircraft tyres in yawed and unbraked motion on dry and wet pavements, which is used to determine the decelerating forces acting on an aircraft-type tyre operating in yaw on a runway surface.
An aircraft-type tyre that operates in an unbraked state in yaw on a dry and water-covered runway surface is considered. Step-by-step solutions, with detailed explanations, are provided for each case.
The Data Item forms part of a series of Data Items which demonstrate the application of both ESDU 13007 and ESDU 05011, Summary of the model for performance of an aircraft tyre rolling or braking on dry or precipitate contaminated runways.
Background information relating to the application of the model is given in ESDU 10002, Introduction to worked examples of tyres rolling or braking on dry or precipitate contaminated runways. Application of ESDU 05011 and ESDU 13007.
