Guide to fatigue data available in Stress and Strength of Components Series
Abstract:
ESDU 20004 provides a guide to the relevant Data Items offered within the Stress and Strength Series which discuss and present fatigue data. The fatigue data, often derived from constant amplitude stress-life fatigue tests that have been carried out under axial or bending loading, are summarised in tables for the following areas; steel and aluminium welded and non-welded joints, steel bolted joints, steel keyed assemblies, steel and aluminium thick cylinder shafts and steel coned disc springs. A brief review of Data Items that consider the effect of fretting on fatigue strength, the size effect and the use of strain-life fatigue data is also given in ESDU 20004.
This Data Item is part of the 'Stress and Strength' Series. ESDU is currently seeking new Members to join the Committee that oversees that Series.
