Elastic stresses in single lap joints under tension or compression
Abstract:
ESDU 67008 gives the maximum total elastic stress resulting from the combination of the bending stress and the applied direct stress in a single lap joint between two flat or curved plates of the same thickness and material. Account is taken of any rotational restraint that exists at the joint centre such as occurs when the lap joint is made over a frame or bulkhead.Indexed under:
