Buckling of corrugated shear webs.
Abstract:ESDU 74022 gives a curve for the shear at overall buckling of the web as a function of the edge rotational restraint, the product of the stiffnesses along and across the corrugations (curves assist the calculation of that parameter from a knowledge of the corrugation dimensions), and the web depth. For three corrugation types curves are also given for the local buckling coefficient of the flat plates of which the web is made, and plasticity reduction factors to correct the elastic buckling stresses are included. The results drawn from the literature of over 70 experimental tests are tabulated and compared with predictions from the curves.
