ESDU 80021
Pressure drag of blunt forebodies at zero incidence for Mach numbers up to 10.
Abstract:
ESDU 80021 provides data for the pressure drag component of the forebody drag for families of ellipsoidal, tangent ogive, spherically-blunted tangent ogive and flat-faced forebodies with and without a radiused shoulder. The bodies are at zero incidence and at subsonic, supersonic and hypersonic speeds up to Mach 10 except for the tangent ogive for which the data apply up to a Mach number of 4.5. The information is presented in graphical form, and was obtained from correlations of experimental data and theoretical calculations for inviscid airflow.Indexed under:
